Hey there, my name is Steven Dickenson. I’m an IT manager/network administrator/general purpose geek living in Annapolis, Maryland, USA. This blog is my way of getting things off my chest, as well as a place for me to scribble tech notes that I think might help others.

I’m the network administrator for The Key School, a private K-12 school in Annapolis. I also do a fair amount of consulting for small businesses and other independent schools in the area, which keeps things varied and interesting. I love to hack around with Linux, SpamAssassin, PHP, Exim, and Altiris. Windows is boring, but it pays the bills.

I have a wonderful wife of 10 years and 3 children from 14 to newborn. We all attend a great church that really fills our spiritual needs and where we hope our kids will come to know Christ the way my wife and I do.

I like to think that I’m a photographer (and I have the gear to prove it), although I swear my wife takes better pictures of the kids than I do. I love to cook and spend far too much time in the kitchen, to the detriment of my waistline. I lean towards the left on most political matters, but tend not to shout about it too much.

About the site

My blog (and thus the majority of this site) is powered by WordPress, an excellent weblog system. The design for this site is a modified version of Michael Heilemann’s beautiful K2 theme. I post entries using ecto. My photo gallery is powered by Expose. I do all of my work on my beloved 15.4″ Macbook Pro. Mac OS X is the bomb.
