Just read on Slashdot that Friday is System Administrator Appreciation Day. Seems some guy made it up 3 years ago, and it has been growing in popularity ever since (probably helped along by the dotcom boom). Seeing as how I’m a sysadmin, I can’t help but smile at this. I think I may need to anonymously send a link to this site to my boss.
Anyway, check out the site. Lots of great gift suggestions, as well as some hilarious links (if you’re into geek humor, that is). And don’t forget to thank your IT guy on Friday (preferably with large sums of cash, or at least some good chocolate).
